Because Madelyn's birthday is not only the first week of school but usually the first day or two we always throw her two parties. So this past weekend...sticking with tradition we had family (ie: grandparents) and some friends over to help us celebrate her 10th birthday. This year her request was to redo her bedroom so she got a new comfortor, sheets etc for her room. We are working to get some "lounging" chairs and "cool" lamps to go in there as well over the next few weeks too. Of course we must see that this all happens BEFORE her slumber\spa party in the coming weeks. Stay Tuned...

First Day of School
Today August 2nd marks the First Day of School for Madelyn & Lilly. Madelyn is finishinh up her 'career' as a elementary student as a 5th grader and Lilly is still just in the beginning in 1st grade...but not completely at the bottom of the totem pole either. This year is all so bitter-sweet. This is the last year that they will both EVER be at the same school. Since there is a 4 year difference one will be leaving at the other is starting, it's sad. It's like Madelyn is passing of the baton to her sister to keep the show going in elementary school. But then, I'm so proud of the ladies they have become and the ladies that they are destined to be from here on out. ::This momma is in tears of Joy::

While the girls are away...

I can't wait till they get back home on Saturday....Life is way TOO quiet without them!
Family Reunion in Piggot, AR
Yes...Piggot, Arkansas! Where is that? Northeast AR...about 9 hours. And we made this round trip in 4 days. We have a great time catching up and meeting new family members over the weekend. Some of which I had not seen in 15+ years. So needless to say, I remembered essentially like 5% of the people there, HA!!
Here are a few pictures from the weekend, ENJOY!!
Lilly patiently waiting to ride horses!
"Squishing" Pennies on the train tracks with cousins
(yes...we know it's illegal, only if you get caught though!HA!)
Special thanks to my Uncle who took these GREAT pictures over the weekend!
Here is his website... http://www.bruceschnaak.com/
